This policy describes what personal information is collected when you visit or interact with yashrajjain.in, why it is collected, how it is used, who can see it, and how long it is kept. Plain English. Real practice.
01 Who I am
This site (yashrajjain.in) is operated by Yashraj Jain — an independent software engineer based in Bangalore, India. There is no team, no agency, no parent company. When the policy says 'I' or 'me', it means me — Yashraj.

02 What I collect
Contact form. When you send a message I receive your name, email, optional company, and the message itself. I use it only to reply to your inquiry.
Cost calculator. The five inputs you select are processed in your browser and only leave the page if you choose to send the pre-filled brief to me.
Analytics. The site uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views and measure performance. These services are cookie-less and do not build user profiles or sell data. They aggregate IP, referrer, browser, and country.
Logs. My hosting provider (Vercel) records standard request logs (IP, user agent, response code) for security and reliability. Those logs are retained for a short period and not used for marketing.
03 What I do not collect
No advertising cookies. No retargeting pixels. No fingerprinting. No location data beyond the country-level signal Vercel uses for performance routing.
I do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising — ever.
04 How long I keep it
Inquiries I have engaged with are kept until the engagement is complete plus 24 months for tax, contract, and reference purposes. Inquiries that go nowhere are deleted within 12 months.
Analytics data is retained according to Vercel's policy (currently 1 month at the highest resolution).
05 Your rights
You can ask me at any time to: confirm what data I hold about you, export a copy, correct it, delete it, or restrict its processing. I respond within 30 days. Most requests are handled within 72 hours.
If you are based in the EU, UK, or California you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively — including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
06 Cookies
The site does not set tracking cookies. The only cookies that may be set come from Vercel's own infrastructure for security (e.g., DDoS protection). These are essential and do not require consent under GDPR.
07 Children
This site is not aimed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided me with personal information, email me and I will delete it.
08 Changes
If I make material changes to this policy, the effective date at the top will change and — for active clients — I will email a heads-up. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
